PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excessive backlash detection method and a positioning failure detection method for a device which sets the relative positions of a substrate holding unit and a mounting head in an electronic circuit component mounting machine.SOLUTION: A reference mark photographing device is moved in a normal and a reverse direction of the X axis direction to positions at which the detected values of an encoder for an electric motor are the same, and a rail reference mark is photographed at the respective positions (S5). If an absolute value representing the amount of displacement between two images of rail reference marks is equal to or greater than a set value, it is determined that backlash is excessive and notification is made (S6, S7). Positioning failure including forced displacement of the constituent members of a mounting module is detected on the basis of photographed images of rail reference marks (S13), and slack displacement and abnormality deriving from unknown cause are detected on the basis of photographed images of rail reference marks taken at several different kinds of acceleration of the reference mark photographing device 28 (S11, S12). Mounting head attachment failure, etc. are detected on the basis of photographed images of head reference marks by a component photographing device (S24, S25). |
