PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a torque sensor with short overall length.SOLUTION: A torque sensor comprises: a motor M including a rotatable rotary shaft M1; a planetary gear mechanism 13 including an output shaft 13a that is connected to the rotary shaft and rotates at lower speed than rotation of the rotary shaft; and a pipe-shaped distortion generating pipe 12 that is provided between the planetary gear mechanism 13 and the motor M and generates distortion according to torque added to the output shaft 13a. In the torque sensor, the distortion generating pipe 12 is made of an aluminum alloy and includes at least part of the rotary shaft M1 therein. Accordingly, since the motor M can be arranged at a position closer to the output shaft 13a than before, overall length of a sensor case 16 is shortened, and then the overall length of the torque sensor 10 can be shortened. |
