[Class 55 (i)] Air and steam or water vapour produced by spraying water into the air, are preheated before being supplied to a tuyere 6 of a gas producer 7 by passage through a conduit 8 enclosed in a jacket 9 through which the hot gases from the producer pass. The air is moistened by a jet 5 supplied with water from a float chamber 4. In a modification, heat is supplied to the airsteam mixture by passage through a jacket around the hot zone of the producer.</p> |
