In order to update authentication information quickly while maintaining the consistency of the authentication information used by each of multiple devices, a storage unit (1a) stores authentication information which is associated with information indicating any one of multiple users and is used for authentication in an authentication device. A computation unit (1b) distributes authentication information to the authentication device in response to a request from the authentication device, and generates information indicating whether authentication information is being distributed with respect to the information indicating a user. The computation unit (1b) receives a request to update the authentication information associated with the information indicating a user. The computation unit (1b) references the information that has been generated, and when the authentication information with respect to the information indicating the relevant user has not been distributed, the computation unit updates the authentication information which is stored in the storage unit (1a) and the updating of which has been requested. When the authentication information with respect to the information indicating the relevant user is being distributed the computation unit (1b) confirms that the relevant authentication information is no longer being used by the authentication device, and then updates the updates the authentication information which is stored in the storage unit (1a) and the updating of which has been requested. |
