The present invention relates to a ballast water filtering device including: a housing having an inflow portion and an outflow portion allowing inflow and outflow of ballast water of a ship; a filter unit positioned in the housing and filtering the ballast water flowing in through the inflow portion; and an automatic washing unit washing foreign matter attached to the filter unit. The automatic washing unit has: a suctioning unit having a flushing arm suctioning backwash water containing the foreign matter attached to the filter unit; a discharge unit accommodating one side of the suctioning unit and discharging the backwash water, suctioned from the suctioning unit, to the outside of the housing; a driving unit positioned outside the housing and providing power; and a driven unit supplied with the power from the driving unit and mechanically rotating the suctioning unit. The suctioning unit is rotated by the driven unit and the flushing arm of the suctioning unit is rotated in a mechanical manner, and thus the rotation of the flushing arm can be controlled with accuracy. Stationary and rotation states are appropriately controlled by driving and driven gears, and thus backwash efficiency is improved.
