A pneumatic evacuation pump for use with a compressed air supply, the pneumatic evacuation pump comprising: 5 an inlet assembly including an inlet valve interposed between an inlet accepting material from a material supply and a charging port and a purge air injection assembly located on the charging port side of the inlet valve and in communication with the compressed air supply; a chamber of selectable length and substantially constant cross section and 10 having a charge end opening to the charging port and a discharge end; a delivery assembly including a passage opening to the discharge end and extending to a delivery outlet, a delivery valve interposed in the passage between the discharge end 15 and the delivery outlet, a venturi vacuum assembly opening to the passage between the delivery valve and the discharge end, and including a high velocity air flow jet in a housing, a vacuum valve positioned between the passage and the high velocity air flow jet, and an exhaust air injection assembly located downstream 20 of the delivery valve and utilizing exhaust air from the high velocity air flow jet, the exhaust air injection assembly including a diffuser valve arranged to stop flow to the passage downstream of the delivery valve; and a controller acting to coordinate a cycle of operation of the venturi vacuum source, the purge air injection assembly, the exhaust air injection assembly, the inlet 25 valve, and the delivery valve. 50420441 (GHMatters) P87433.AU.1 30/01/14 |
