PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a railway vehicle body structure, with which dimensional precision of the railway vehicle body structure can be maintained with a simple technique, and a relay member of a tool for manufacturing the railway vehicle body structure.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a railway vehicle body structure 1 includes a side body structure joining step of joining side body structures 3, 4 to an underframe 2. The side body structure joining step includes: an arrangement step of arranging a pair of side body structures 3, 4 each including a pillar part 8 at both edges 2a, 2b of the underframe 2 in a width direction in such a manner that the pillar parts 8 are directed inside; an interval adjusting step of adjusting an interval between the pair of side body structures 3, 4 by freely removably mounting one end portion and the other end portion of a first rod-like tool 9 of which the length is variable, to the pillar parts 8 of the pair of side body structures 3, 4, respectively, and bridging the pair of side body structures 3, 4 by the first rod-like tool 9; and a joining step of joining the side body structures 3, 4 and the underframe 2 while maintaining the interval adjusted by the first rod-like tool 9. |
