The invention relates to a card connector. Specifically, the invention provides a card connector having a detection switch for detecting the insertion and pulling-out of a card. The card connector can perform scraping motion through the vertical movement of contact parts of a contact member forming the detection switch and can shorten the length of a card along an insertion length. When the card is detected by the detection switch detecting card insertion and pulling-out to be inserted, the top end of the card abuts on a cam part of a first contact member. If the insertion of the card continues, the card makes the cam part descend and then resides thereon. A first contact part descends and performs scraping motion on a second contact part. If the insertion of the card goes farther, the top end of the card passes through the upper part of the first contact part and abuts on the second contact part. The second contact part is separated from the first contact part with the further insertion of the card. |
