The invention relates to an isolating switch comprising: a fixed arc contact (20) and a mobile arc contact (22); an isolating nozzle (24) enveloping a part of a first arc contact (20) in such a way that, when the electric arc is formed during a manoeuvre for opening or closing the isolating switch, the isolating nozzle (24) is in contact with the electric arc and undergoes an ablation by the electric arc; and a screen (25) which is mounted on the second arc contact (22), an isolating tip (25b) of the screen (25) being mounted against an end (22a) of the second arc contact (22), which is located on the side of the first arc contact, the isolating tip (25b) being arranged so as to be in contact with the electric arc and to increase the length thereof.
