PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve highly convenient focused display in an imaging apparatus capable of selecting a main subject.SOLUTION: Subjects in a photographed image are detected, and a main subject is selected from the detected subjects. A focal point detection area, corresponding to the subjects detected by detection means, is set, and focal point detection is performed within the set focal point detection area. When performing focused display that represents a focal point detection result, the focal point detection result about the focal point detection area, corresponding to the main subject among the focal point detection areas and the focal point detection result about the focal point detection area, corresponding to a subject other than the main subject included within depth of field, are displayed differently. |
