The invention relates to a capsule (1), comprising: a preferably rotationally symmetric capsule body (2), which has a side wall (3) and a bottom (4); and a cover (5) for forming a closed chamber (6), which cover covers the capsule body (2). The closed chamber contains a substance (7) for preparing a liquid food. When a liquid is conducted through, the cover forms an inlet side and the bottom forms an outlet side having an outlet opening (10). A riser pipe (13) and an outlet pipe (11) connected to the outlet opening (10) are arranged in the capsule (1) in such a way that the riser pipe and the outlet pipe communicate with each other. The liquid flows through the riser pipe (13) from the capsule bottom in the direction of the cover (5), to an inlet opening of the outlet pipe (11). A crossing region arranged close to the bottom is arranged between the riser pipe (13) and the chamber (6). The crossing region can be penetrated by means of a penetration element (20) arranged on the capsule (1), in such a way that a plurality of crossing openings (14) are formed. |
