PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment having high color density at coloring while exhibiting a reversible thermochromic behavior with easily coloring from a decolored state at a living environmental temperature range and its neighbor temperature and decoloring again.SOLUTION: A microcapsule pigment contains a reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment comprising (a) an electron donative coloring organic compound, (b) a hydroxy benzoic acid ester compound of the formula (1) and a hydroxyphenyl acetic acid ester compound of the formula (2) as an electron-accepting compound, (c) a reaction medium selected from chain hydrocarbons, alicyclic hydrocarbons, aromatic hydrocarbon, halogenated hydrocarbons which originate an electron transfer reaction reversibly, (d) a styrene compound having a softening point of 5°C or higher and a weight average molecular weight of 200 to 100,000. In the formulae (1), (2), R represents a linear or side chain alkyl group having 10 to 20 carbon atoms. |
