A method for reducing the carbohydrate content in wholegrain cereals comprises the following steps: a) swelling of the wholegrain cereals in water, b) separating the wholegrain cereals and the water, c) squeezing the swelled wholegrain cereals for further removal of water, d) agitating the squeezed wholegrain cereals, e) separation of cereals and liquid produced during the agitation, f) drying of the thus treated cereals, is described. Cereals having reduced carbohydrate content by treatment according to the method is also described. |
