A filling system (7, 7A) for a machine used in tobacco industry for filling trays (6) with rod-shaped articles (3) that are dispensed from a dispenser (5), the filling system (7, 7A) comprising: a filling mechanism (11) comprising rotary rollers (13) for facilitating the passing of the rod-shaped articles (3) from the dispenser (5) to the tray (6) below the filling system (7, 7A); and a blocking mechanism (12, 12A) for blocking passing of the rod-shaped articles (3) from the dispenser (5) to the tray (6). The blocking mechanism (12, 12A) comprises pressing elements (19) movable in a direction of axes of the rotary rollers (13) between a blocked position, in which the pressing elements (19) are located at a first distance (L1), not greater than a length (L) of the rod-shaped articles (3), from a back wall (10) of the dispenser (5) and an unblocked position, in which the pressing elements (19) are located at a second distance (L2), greater than the length (L) of the rod-shaped articles (3), from the back wall (10) of the dispenser (5). |
