PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor unit for an air conditioner capable of securing a space for storing a cable for connecting an outdoor side refrigerant circuit to an electrical equipment box even if a displacement volume of a compressor becomes large.SOLUTION: An outdoor unit for an air conditioner includes a base 13, a connection plate 40 for connection a support column 11a and a support column 11d, an electrical equipment box 30 at a front face side and in an upper part of the connection plate 40, equipment and a pipe 27 constituting a compressor 23 and an outdoor side refrigerant circuit 30 in a space surrounded by a heat exchanger 21, and a cable 60 for connecting the outdoor side refrigerant circuit 20 to the electrical equipment box 30, the compressor 23 is arranged in a compressor chamber 50 provided at a lower part of the connection plate 40, a top face plate 56 of the compression chamber 50 has a front flat face 562 lower than a lower end of the connection plate 40, a rear part flat face 561 lower than an upper end of the connection plate 40, and a sloped face 563 for connecting the front part flat face 562 to the rear part flat face 561, the sloped face 563 includes projected parts 564, 565 projected to a position near to the connection plate 40, and sloped faces other than the projected parts 564, 565 serve as cable guides 566, 567, 568 for guiding the cable 60 up to the electrical equipment box 30. |
