The present invention relates to a novel Porphyromonas gingivalis strain having a low level of cytokine decomposition activity and invasiveness, and a pharmaceutical composition for preventing periodontitis containing the novel Porphyromonas gingivalis strain as probiotics. According to the present invention, when a pharmaceutical composition for preventing periodontitis is used, the infection and proliferation of causative bacteria of periodontitis can be suppressed to prevent periodontitis from occurring. Therefore, it can be widely used for prevention or treatment of periodontal diseases more effectively.
