PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting a position of a sheet material, capable of precisely adjusting a position in the width direction of the traveling sheet material, and decreased in a fear of increasing a tensile force of the sheet material by friction with the sheet material, and a fear of lowering accuracy of position adjustment by abrasion of a member.SOLUTION: A method for adjusting a position of a sheet material includes: letting a sheet material S travel in a state of winding on a first long rod-like member followed by passing a gap between a second long rod-like member arranged at an interval in parallel, and further winding on the second long rod-like member; and inclining the axial direction of the first long rod-like member and the second long rod-like member to a direction orthogonal to the traveling direction of the sheet material so as to displace the sheet material to the width direction. The first long rod-like member and the second long rod-like member become a pair of unrotatable bars 11 and 12 or a pair of free rollers, a drive roller 16 driven with a motor 56 is provided on the upstream thereof, and the motor adjusts so as to make the travel speed of the sheet material sent to the first long rod-like member larger than a speed in the downstream of the second long rod-like member. |
