The invention relates to a method of operating a laundry treatment apparatus 2, in particular a dryer or a washing machine having dryer function, the apparatus 2 comprising: a storing compartment 6 for storing laundry therein, in particular a rotatable drum, an air circulation channel 20 connected at a first end 22 and at a second end 24 to the storing compartment 6, a blower 26 for blowing the air through the air circulation channel 20 and the storing compartment 6, a heat pump system 10 having an evaporator 14 and a condenser 16 arranged in the air circulation channel 20, and a steam generator 8, 30 arranged within the body 4 of the laundry treatment apparatus 2; the method comprising the steps of: supplying steam generated by the steam generator 8, 30 into the air circulation channel 20 and/or the storing compartment 6, and at the same time at least for an overlapping period, operating the heat pump system 10. |
