[Classes 75(iii) and 75(iv)] An elongated plate adapted to be secured to the ceiling or wall by screws is provided with two tongues 22 extending in the same direction and slightly offset from the plane of the plate, each tongue being adapted to receive a transverse bar 12 on the back of a fluorescent tube carrier 10 which can be slid longitudinally between the tongues and the plate. The plate may consist of two longitudinal strips 14 connected by four transverse strips 16, 18, 18, 20, the end strips 16, 20 receiving the tongues 22 while the intermediate strips 18 may be formed with holes for bolts by which the starter unit is attached. The fluorescent tube may be mounted at the vertex of the metal semicylindrical carrier 10, the carrier being slightly wider than the plate so as to conceal it when the two elements are assembled and the bars 12 of the carrier being so situated that the margins of the carrier are nearly in contact with the ceiling or wall. |
