PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copolymer that can give a rubber composition and a pneumatic tire with low fuel consumption and wet grip performance improved in a good balance.SOLUTION: The copolymer is obtained by polymerizing a conjugate diene compound and a compound expressed by formula (II) by use of a special polymerization initiator having a tertiary amino group and an alkali metal atom to obtain a copolymer, and then reacting a specified compound with the active terminal of the obtained copolymer. The final copolymer has a weight average molecular weight Mw of 1.0×10to 2.5×10. In the formula, Rto Rrepresent a 1-10C hydrocarbyl group; and r represents an integer of 1 to 20. |
