The invention relates to a roof load carrier for motor vehicles comprising a cross-member extending between rail bars (1) which are fixed to both sides of the roof, and in a longitudinal manner on said roof, said cross-member consisting of a horizontal profile bar (3) and support feet (5) which are arranged on the ends and which can be displaced longitudinally in relation to the profile bar (3). Each support foot (5) comprises two clamping jaws (20, 30) which can be moved on each other by means of a clamping device (40) by clamping the rail bar (1). In order to provide a roof load carrier in which individual parts are not required when mounting on different types of vehicles and also when mounting in different positions or places on the provided rail bars, at least one of the clamping jaws (20, 30), and preferably both clamping jaws (20, 30) are pivotally mounted on the support feet (5) about a vertical axis (21, 31). |
