[Class 45] [Also in Group X] Relates to sliding doors or gates of the kind comprising solid or hollow spaced pickets 1, Fig. 3, each comprised of one or two parts riveted to flexible bands or strips 13 and capable of sliding round a curve of small radius ; the pickets engaging guide tracks 7, 8, at both ends and some having suspension brackets 3 at the top carrying rollers engaging an upper track 4. According to the invention the flexible bands 13 are embraced by metal clips 14, both the clips and bands passing through slots in the pickets. As shown, each picket is of hexagonal section, consists of two half sections held together by hollow rivets 20 and has spaced slots to receive the flexible strips 13 and clips 14. The strips may be formed of balata, leather or the like or of thin steel. Each clip comprises two similar flanged steel plates which are notched to receive and interlock with the pickets. The clips are secured to the strip by rivets 29 and to the picket by the rivets 30. Each picket has antifriction rollers 5, 6, at the top and bottom running in guides 7, 8. |
