A verification system for processing biometric information according to the present invention comprises: a biometric information scanner which includes a scan interface unit, a capturing unit, and a scan control unit; and a mobile communications terminal which includes a main interface unit and a main control unit. The main interface unit supports wired or wireless connection to the scan interface unit, applies an operation voltage to the biometric information scanner, and receives a front image from the biometric information scanner. The main control unit displays the front image on an image display surface in real time so that a user positions the biometric information scanner correctly toward the eyes of the user, extracts an iris image by detecting an iris of the user from the front image, performs iris verification using the extracted iris image, and processes a security function depending on a result of the iris verification. |
