PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converter refining method by which the charging quantity of scrap in one cycle blowing in converter refining can be increased and explosive boil of molten iron in a furnace is prevented, thereby performing stable blowing safely.SOLUTION: A converter refining method includes: a first step of charging molten iron and the scrap into a converter 4; a second step of performing decarburization refining by blowing oxygen gas from a lance 6 into the converter 4; a third step of charging the scrap having a specific surface area of ≤11.0 m/ton into the converter 4; and a fourth step of charging CaO into the converter 4, and then performing the decarburization refining concurrently with dephosphorization refining by blowing the oxygen gas, and further, tapping off the molten steel. |
