A disposable diaper (10) comprising: a rear-side waist expansion/contraction sheet (85) having expansion/contraction properties in the product width direction and arranged in the rear waist area; and a waist holding section extending along the product width direction and holding the disposable diaper on to the body of a wearer. The disposable diaper has a first area (R11) having the rear-side waist expansion/contraction sheet arranged therein and a second area (R2) not having the rear-side waist expansion/contraction sheet arranged therein and having a lower elongation rate than the first area. The elongation rate in the product width direction in a side section area (R12) in the first area is lower than the elongation rate in the product width direction in a center area (R11) of the first area. The first area and the second area are arranged over the entire product longitudinal direction, extending to the front-side end section of the waist holding section in the rear waist area and the rear-side end section of the waist holding section in the rear waist area. |
