[Classes 75(iii) and 75(iv)] A lamp-holder for a tubular lamp formed as a loop and having a contact base in its periphery comprises spaced members extending laterally from a supporting bracket to engage the periphery of the lamp, at least one of these members being movable relative to the other, one of the members being provided with a contact receptacle adapted to engage the contact base of the lamp and means carried by the bracket for preventing movement of the movable member. A movable member 6 is provided with a pin 11 which engages a bayonet slot 10 in the upper channel section 9 of two nested channel sections 8, 9 forming a supporting bracket 4 for the lamp and a spring 12 wrapped around the pin 11 urges the member 6 outwardly so that a curved surface thereon engages the lamp 2. A set screw 18 carried on the end wall of the channel section 9 engages an abutment 17 on the member 6 to lock the movable member. The set screw may be positioned at various points on the supporting bracket 4 and may be located within a housing provided with an opening to receive a key or other special tool for turning the screw. Outward movement of the member 6 is limited by a lip 19 thereon engaging the lower wall of the bracket 4. Specification 618,128 is referred to. |
