PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorber manufacturing method capable of highly efficiently manufacturing absorbers that include portions having a relatively high basis weight of fiber materials and portions having a relatively low basis weight of the fiber materials.SOLUTION: The absorber manufacturing apparatus according to the present invention includes: supplying a rotary drum 2 including accumulation recesses 22 formed on an outer peripheral surface, with fiber materials 31 in a scattered state; and accumulating the fiber materials 31 in the accumulation recesses 22 by suction to acquire absorbers 3 with a predetermined shape. The absorber manufacturing method provides absorbers 3 including portions having a relatively high basis weight of the fiber materials 31 and portions having a relatively low basis weight of the fiber materials by periodically changing a supply amount of the fiber materials 31 per unit time according to a rotary movement period of the accumulation recesses.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
