PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method capable of easily coinciding with coating colors after a baking step when a member made from steel plate and a member made from a resin are contained as constituent members, at low cost.SOLUTION: A coating method includes: a base coating step of coating a member to which a primer having a Lvalue of 70-80 in a L*a*b* color system is applied with a yellow aqueous solid base coating material where a yellow pigment is 50 mass% or more and a white pigment is 30 mass% or more in the total pigment, and forming a base coating film having a bvalue in the L*a*b* color system of 60-70; a clear coating step of coating the member to which the base coating has been applied with a clear coating material after preheating; and a baking step of baking the member to which the clear coating has been applied. Color matching is performed so that coating colors between the members after the baking step coincide with each other by adjusting at least one of the content of a viscosity modifier and the content of a hydrophilic solvent which are contained in the yellow aqueous solid base coating material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
