Provided in the present invention is a washing machine capable of suppressing vibrations and noises and allowing a gap between the circumferential wall of an outer tub and a housing to be reduced and thereby reducing useless space. The washing machine is provided with: a housing (2) having the shape of a box and provided with an internal space (Sp) opened at the top and a wash tub unit (4) suspended and supported in the internal space (Sp) via suspending rods (3). The wash tub unit is provided with: an outer tub (5) having the shape of a bottomed quasi-cylinder; an inner tub (6) having the shape of a bottomed quasi-cylinder, coaxially arranged within the outer tub (5), and rotatably supported by the outer tub; and, an actuating mechanism (7) arranged below the outer tub (5) and used for rotatively actuating the inner tub (6). Base extremity sides (3A) of the suspending rods (3) are mounted in proximity to the upper extremity (24) of the housing (2), while top extremity (3B) sides are mounted at the lower part of the outer housing (5). The center of gravity (Pc1) of the wash tub unit (4) is provided at a position higher than the center of height (Hb) of the housing (2) in the vertical direction. |
