The present invention provides a power consumption reducing type cooling tower which is a cooling tower supplying high-temperature cooling water discharged from a freezer to a heat exchange unit through a spraying nozzle. The heat exchange unit heat-exchanges the high-temperature cooling water supplied through the spraying nozzle and external air supplied by a blast fan, and thereafter discharges the cooling water and the external air to the lower side. The power consumption reducing type cooling tower includes: a torque generating means generating torque using a fall of the cooling water discharged to the lower side of the heat exchange unit; first and second unit guide units arranged in the lower side of the heat exchange unit; a guide unit guiding the cooling water discharged from the heat exchange unit to the torque generating means; a gear box enabling the blast fan to rotate by transmitting the torque of the torque generating means; a cooling water storing unit arranged in the inner lower part of the cooling tower and collecting and storing the heat-exchanged cooling water; and a discharge pipe discharging the cooling water stored in the cooling water storing unit to the outside of the cooling tower. According to the present invention, the torque is generated by dropping the cooling water discharged from the heat exchange unit of the cooling tower, and the blast fan is rotated by using the generated torque. Thus, an effect of reducing the total energy consumption is obtained. In addition, an effect of producing electricity is obtained by connecting a power generator to a water turbine. |
