The present invention is made to provide a transparent electrode having both electrical conductivity and light transmissibility, and improve the performance of an electronic device and an organic electroluminescence element. A transparent electrode (1) includes a nitrogen-containing layer (1a) and an electrode layer (1b) formed adjacent to the nitrogen-containing layer (1a). The electrode layer (1b) is formed using silver or an alloy having silver as a main component. The nitrogen-containing layer (1a) is composed of a compound that satisfies Formulas (1) and (2).
