The insulating casing is in the form of a tube (25) which receives a female spade connector through its rear open end (26). The casing has an axial groove formed at each side of its base wall adjacent its front end (27) to receive projecting portions of the connector base wall. The roof of the connector has a rearwardly turned tongue which has a deformation (19) partway along its length to engage a hole in an inserted male connector and has a hooked end (12) which engages in a recess (12) in the casing base wall to resist removal of the female connector. The foot of the casing also has a projection (26) which engages against a rear edge of the female connector to resist removal of the latter.
