The present invention relates to an object recognizing system for a vehicle, recognizing a moving object approaching a vehicle to perform an alarm operation and comprising an image input part, an object detection part and a control part. The image input part is installed on the front side or the rear side of the vehicle to obtain a neighboring image. The object detection part analyzes the image to detect a moving object approaching the vehicle. The control part outputs a warning regarding the moving object from the object detection part through an interface. The moving object is detected by extracting a differential image between a previous image and a current image by using movement of a specific point included in a background. The moving object can be easily detected by tracking the movement and giving a warning even when the moving object has no characteristic. The quantity of calculation depending on the detection of the object is reduced, so a load due to the calculation is reduced, a real time-process is easily performed, and the degree of accuracy in determining the approach of a moving object can be improved. Moreover, an approaching object initiates an alarm by monitoring a dead zone, thereby improving driver convenience and stability.
