The present invention relates to a carbon dioxide adsorbent including a carbon dioxide adsorbent in which an amino acid-based amine functional group is introduced, and a method for preparing the same, wherein the carbon dioxide adsorbent has enhanced thermal stability and carbon dioxide-adsorbing ability by introducing an amine functional group by allowing a porous support having a broad surface area to carry ionic liquid and then performing an ion exchange process and neutralization of an amino acid and the exchanged ion. According to the present invention as above, by providing a carbon dioxide adsorbent in which an amino acid-based amine functional group is introduced into a porous support carrying ionic liquid, problems of toxicity, corrosion, and low reusability occurring in the typical carbon dioxide adsorbing method employing amine are resolved. Also, due to excellent thermal stability and adsorbing ability of the carbon dioxide adsorbent, environmental contamination caused by release of carbon dioxide is prevented.
