摘要 An inductive charging station has a multi-turn spiral coil formed from conducive wire. Capacitive tuning elements 602, 604, 606, 608, 610 are positioned along the length of the coil at each turn, to resonate the coil. A method is also described for selecting the capacitance of each capacitor as a function of the number of coil turns, using an optimisation algorithm with a cost function. In one embodiment, at least two capacitors have the same resonant frequency. The capacitors may be connected in series, and capacitance selected such that the voltage V1, V2, V3, V4, V5 between adjacent turns is minimised. Parasitic capacitance C12, C23, C34, C45 is reduced, and the wireless charging station provides reduced electric field, and therefore reduced electromagnetic and radio interference, risk of electric shock, and interference to power receiving unit (PRU) touch sensors or screens.
