An auxiliary device for an oven (4) designed to be operated in a space (2) in order to heat the air in that space has an essentially closed chamber (26) which is designed to receive heat from the oven (4), a first inlet (22) which is designed to guide air (C) into the chamber (26) where it is heated, an outlet (30) which is designed to give off, from the chamber (26) into the space (2), the air (W) heated in the chamber (26), an air flow setting device (24, 28) which is designed to set the air flow (A) through the chamber (26), a space air temperature measuring device (42) which is designed to measure the temperature of the air in the space, and a control device (40) which is designed to control the air flow setting device (24, 28) in dependence on the output signal from the space air temperature measuring device (42) such that the air flow setting device (24, 28) is prompted to permit an air flow (A) through the chamber (26) only while the temperature of the air (2) in the space is below a space air temperature setpoint value (RTsoll). |
