An ignition system has a controller (4), a housing (2) containing an air fan and a gas supply component, a flexible pipe extending from the housing (2) for conveying combustion gas and air, and an ignition head (7) for igniting a flame. The flexible air pipe contains an internal gas pipe, and directs air flow from the air fan around the gas pipe, and the head (7) mixes air and gas. Also, the flexible air pipe also contains an electrical cable for ignition power and also for flame sensing using ionization electrodes. The fan ventilates the housing (2) and cools the fuel pipe and the electrical cable along the length of the air pipe. |
