<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road marker device including a light-emitting diode and a projecting optical system to linearize the light from the light-emitting diode for emission to the outside, which allows the line length of the light to be adjusted for indicating road signs such as road side lines or road boundaries. <P>SOLUTION: The projecting optical system built in a road marker device 1 attached to a column S has a light emitting direction tilted in the vertical plane to the road face. The road face is irradiated with linear light extending in the longitudinal direction along the light emitting direction from the projection part 21 of the projecting optical system, so that a line K is drawn by the light L2 from the projection part 21.
