631,511. Operating mechanism for vehicle windows. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Oct. 24, 1947, No. 28540. Convention date, Nov. 2, 1946. [Class 20(iii)] A vehicle with two or more windows each with a separate motor 3 for opening and closing, and a control 6, 7 for each motor accessible from within the vehicle, has a second control whereby the motors may be caused to close all open windows, this second control being concealed between the door and the frame so that it is inaccessible when the door is closed. As shown doors 1, 2 each have a window operated by a separate circuit including a fluid pressure motor 3, flexible transmission 4, pulleys 5, an " up " or closing switch 6 and "down" or opening switch 7, and a regulating valve 9 connected to an electrical source 8. The master control switch 10 is connected to the closing circuits 12 by wires 11, and has an earth lead 13 electrically connected by a spring 14 to the depressible contact plate 15, and when the button 17 is depressed the plate 15 contacts the points 16 and through the leads 11 actuates the valve 9 to close the windows. The switch 17 is set in a recess 19 so that it does not project above the body 18 and is preferably set in the beading edge of the door, and operated from out- :side the vehicle.
|
