A turbine device (8) for converting hydrokinetic power into electrical power is provided. The turbine device (8) comprises a hydrokinetic turbine (10) being configured to produce a torque, a generator (11) being configured to convert the torque into a first electrical signal having a first frequency, and a frequency converter (12) being configured to convert the first electrical signal into a second electrical signal having a second frequency. By integrating both the generator and the frequency converter into the turbine device, the coupling of a plurality of turbine devices with one another is facilitated, and the amount of wiring required for the electrical connection to onshore devices is reduced. Further, a system (1) for converting hydrokinetic power into electrical power for an electrical power grid (2) and a method for feeding electrical power into an electrical power grid (2) are provided. |
