PURPOSE:To reduce the time needed for indexing a rotary body by positioning the indexing driving system to a reference angle position during machining operation. CONSTITUTION:A rotary body 1 is connected with a rotating driving system comprising a motor 11 and power-transmission mechanisms 13 and 10 and an indexing driving system comprising a servomotor 2, power-transmission mechanisms 7, 4, 6, 8 and 10 and single position clutches 5 and 9. When turning is finished, the motor 11 is stopped. With the clutches 5 and 9 disengaged, the servomotor 2 is operated, and a clutch 52 is stopped at a reference angle position through a detector 14. The rotary body 1 is rotated by means of the motor 11 and stopped at a reference angle position. The clutches 5 and 9 are engaged in order to connect the indexing driving system and the rotary body 1, which is indexed by rotating the servomotor 2 as much as a numerical control orders. |
