The present invention relates to an insecticide composition comprising an extract of Pteridium aquilinum and a method for preparing the same. A composition for controlling plant diseases and insects according to the present invention comprises a hot water extract of Pteridium aquilinum as an active ingredient. A composition for controlling plant diseases and insects according to the present invention is effective in controlling plant pathogenic insects of Homopause or Thysanoptera. A method of preparing a composition for controlling plant diseases and insects according to the present invention comprises the step of hot water-extracting Pteridium aquilinum. A composition for controlling plant diseases and insects prepared by the method according to the present invention not only is prepared relatively inexpensively and simply, but also is environmentally friendly.
