PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic control device with a simpler configuration at a low cost.SOLUTION: An automatic control device comprises: a braking determination unit 10 including an obstacle detection section 11b which detects an obstacle and a braking determination section 11a which outputs a braking request signal when necessary on the basis of detection of the obstacle; a braking device 14; a braking control unit 12 which controls the brake device 14 on the basis of an input of the braking request signal; and a gear shift position sensor 20. On the occurrence of a state when the braking request signal is output with a gearshift put into reverse, the braking control unit 12 detects the state as an abnormal state. However, the braking control unit 12: detects the abnormal state only when the braking request signal is output after the gearshift is put into the reverse; and ignores the braking request signal, if the same is output before the gearshift is put into the reverse, without detecting the abnormal state. |
