A SIP client (111, 121, 131) is configured to generate a SIP request (150, 160, 170) as part of an end-to-end multimedia session initiation, to generate and send a Call-ID header for the SIP request (150, 160, 170), and to send the SIP request (150, 160, 170) to a SIP server (122, 132, 142). The SIP request (150, 160, 170) and a SIP response (250, 260, 270) sent back from the SIP server (122, 132, 142) to the SIP client (111, 121, 131) jointly form a single SIP dialog of the end-to-end multimedia session initiation. The SIP client (111, 121, 131) comprises a SIP header generator adapted to generate and insert in the SIP request (150, 160, 170) a SIP header (151, 161, 171) that contains at least one attribute value uniquely identifying the multimedia session initiation across multiple SIP dialogs that form part of the multimedia, session initiation. |
