In order to achieve a circuit input device which, even after a circuit input operation, does not generate a protrusion on an electrode surface that would reduce inter-electrode breakdown voltage performance, and which has a higher number of operations than a pulse form input device and does not require a trigger electrode or a pulse power source, this circuit input device is provided with: a vacuum valve (1) in which one of a pair of electrodes (12A), (12B) arranged opposite of one another inside in a vacuum container (10) can move towards and away from the other electrode; and a manipulation device (3) which drives the one electrode towards the other electrode at a prescribed time. The separation distance d between the pair of electrodes is always d > 0. The separation distance d1 between the pair of electrodes in a circuit input-completed state is shorter than the distance d2 at which the insulation between the pair of electrodes is destroyed by the charging voltage V of the inputted circuit, and is longer than the distance d3 at which bridging after the input operation occurs by means of a deposit of the electrode metal generated due to evaporation caused by the heat of the arc generated between the pair of electrodes during circuit input. |
