The present invention relates to a composition for skin whitening containing acetic acid 16-hydroxy-octadeca-9,17-diene-12,14-diynyl ester and, more specifically, to a composition which shows a significantly excellent whitening effect by using acetic acid 16-hydroxy-octadeca-9,17-diene-12,14-diynyl ester, improves skin pigmentation or deadness of a skin such as chloasmas and freckles and can evenly and brightly show skin tone.
