PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly prevent heat from being lost from the inside to the outside of a housing through an outlet during standby mode.SOLUTION: A fixing apparatus 19 includes: a housing 23 having an inlet 32 to put in a recording body and an outlet 33 to put out the recording body; a fixing member 24 which is rotatably supported by the housing 23; a pressure member 25 which is rotatably supported by the housing 23, and comes into pressure-contact with the fixing member 24 to form a fixing nip 52 with the fixing member 24; a heat source 84 for heating the fixing member 24; and a cover member 27 which opens the outlet 33 during printing mode in which a toner image is fixed to the recording body while heating the fixing member 24 with the heat source 84, and closes the outlet 33 during standby mode in which the apparatus stands by while heating the fixing member 24 with the heat source 84. |
