PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary encoder system for recording a rotation angle position and/or angular velocity of a rotary shaft extended along the rotation axis.SOLUTION: A rotary encoder system comprises: at least two optical marks 5 in a rotary shaft 1; a photo sensor 6 including a pixel matrix 7 having pixel points; an imaging device 9 for imaging each mark as a mark image approximately in an axial direction on the pixel matrix; and an evaluation device 15 for reading and evaluating the pixel matrix in order to determine data related to the rotation angle position and/or the angular velocity. The mark, the imaging device and the pixel points are embodied so that the mark image on the pixel matrix has the area of at least one pixel point, and the evaluation device is embodied so that a position of the centroid of the mark image is established on the pixel matrix.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
