The present invention relates to a lateral light emitting type optical fiber, comprising: a core configured to include a flexible material; and a clad unit including a first clad surrounding the core and having a light scattering agent added thereto and a second clad surrounding the first clad and having the light scattering agent added thereto. The purpose of the present invention is to provide the lateral light emitting type optical fiber having flexibility and excellent adhesive force between the core and the clad to reduce a light loss.
