Provided is a projector that prevents changes to the tilt and position of a projection lens by reducing the difference in temperature between the upper side and the lower side of the projection lens and thereby makes it possible to minimize decreases in the quality of a projected image. The projector 10 is provided with an image formation panel 14 on which an image is formed and a projection lens 15 that projects the image of the image formation panel 14 onto a screen 20. The center of the image formation panel 14 is shifted and fixed in a direction that is the opposite of a direction in which the central position of the projection surface of the screen 20 is offset with respect to the optical axis L of the projection lens 15. The lens barrel 31 of the projection lens 15 is farther to the image formation panel 14 side than a diaphragm position 32 that determines the f-number of the projection lens 15. An opening 34 is formed as a heat dissipation structure in a part of the lens barrel 31 that corresponds to the direction in which the image formation panel 14 is offset. |
